About Us
Bates Wells & Braithwaite was established more than a century ago in Sudbury, Suffolk. Since then it has expanded into the city of London and Ipswich. The Ipswich office will soon be celebrating its 50th birthday having originally been set up by Cecil Wells to provide litigation services to local insurance companies.
It has continued to offer a highly professional Personal Injury Litigation service although this is now almost entirely for the benefit of claimants who have been involved in accidents at work or on the road. The arrival of David Warren meant the rapid development of the Conveyancing, Private Client and Commercial side of the practice.
The firm now offers a comprehensive legal service which, while locally based has a productive and reciprocal relationship with Bates Wells & Braithwaite (London) LLP and through them access to the Parlex group of European Lawyers.
Bates Wells & Braithwaite occupies easily accessible town centre offices and is always willing to make home visits where appropriate.
We are confident that we can offer a friendly, confident and professional service covering a wide range of legal disciplines.
Bates Wells & Braithwaite is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the independent regulatory body of the Law Society. Our registration number is 464759. The website for the SRA can be found at www.sra.org.uk and includes the Solicitors Code of Conduct 2007.
This firm holds compulsory professional Indemnity insurance. Details of our insurers are available on request.
