
Denise Head – Partner
Denise is a Partner in the firm and is Head of the Family Law Department with more than 16 years experience in this field.
Denise handles all aspects of matrimonial and family work from divorce proceedings to contested disputes about children, the division of assets, and Civil Partnerships. She attends regularly at the local courts having a good working relationship with colleagues in the area and other experts in the field. Much of her caseload involves advising clients and negotiating on their behalf, in respect of family finances including those of co-habiting couples.
Denise is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), which promotes dealing with this difficult time of a client’s life in a sensitive and non-adversarial way and she also has an accreditation from the SRA for dealing with matters concerning children, including those where Social Services are involved. Denise is also trained as a Collaborative lawyer and is a member of the local Collaborative Family Lawyer’s group. She is a Trustee of PACT, a local organisation which gives help to children in need of counselling after a family breakdown and which also provides assistance in establishing contact between absent parents and their children at the local Contact Centre.
Denise was born in Sudbury and, after studying law in Nottingham, moved to Ipswich qualifying as a Solicitor with Bates Wells and Braithwaite in 1992. She is married with three children who take up most of her spare time!
